Product Description The Giro Transfer Sport Bike Helmet is constructed with in-mold technology that fuses a tough outer microshell to the helmet's EPS foam liner. The fusion process reinforces areas around vents and ribs, making the helmet lighter, cooler and tougher. The Transfer utilizes Giro's Acu Dial system, which combines single-handed adjustment with a full-fit band for a quick, sure fit. This Giro helmet features a snap-fit visor, and 20 vents that allow cool, fresh air in and stale, warm air out. The Transfer sport helmet comes in Giro's Universal Fit Adult U size (54-61cm), carefully sculpted and size-specific to simplify the fitting process. Giro's Transfer helmet is a lightweight 255 grams, and complies with U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission's safety standards for bicycle helmets. Helmet Tips--You Should Always... - Wear a helmet when you ride
- Wear your helmet low in the front to protect the forehead
- Fasten your buckle and tighten your chin strap
- Check your adjustments every time you wear your helmet
- Inspect your helmet regularly for signs of wear or damage
- Wear a helmet designed for your activity
About Giro Working late nights in his garage, designer/bike racer Jim Gentes created the first lightweight adult cycling helmet in 1985. Friends at NASA helped tune the final helmet shape and vent placement, and the result was the Giro Prolight, a helmet that was better looking than traditional designs while offering a superior fit and still met the industry's toughest safety standards. Plus, it was half the weight of traditional helmets. Since then, Giro has advanced its helmets, many of which have set the standards for styling, function, and innovation for progressive, performance-oriented riders on dirt, pavement, and snow. Giro helmets are worn by millions of riders, cyclists, skiers, and snowboarders around the world. Young-bloods and old-timers; hard-cores, heshers, and hipsters; rookies, experts, and a few regular Joes too--in fact, pretty musch anyone that appreciates superior fit and function, cutting edge styling, and the very best ideas you get in a helmet.

THE helmet January 8, 2009 Sam Shorestein (Malibu, CA) I bought the blue/black model for $25, half the price at a major sports retail store nearby. It fits well and I hardly know it's on my head. Since it's a universal fit, others in my family borrow it on occasion (when I'm not watching).
Good helmet, but not for large heads December 31, 2008 John Le (Denver, CO) I have a large skull, but as a universal-fit helmet, I expected this to fit well. Well, it does fit, but tightly. Mainly, the sides of my head are pressured against the helmet; when I bite down and the muscles on the side of my head bulge, it is uncomfortable. There is an itty-bitty gap between my forehead and the helmet, which is slightly annoying. My head is a tad bit larger (wider) than the helmet can accommodate well. The helmet makes odd contacts with the top of my head, too; some parts of my head are touching the helmet while leaving gaps in other parts. I suspect that if I were to have a head-on collision, those odd contact points would receive the bulk of the forces. Anyway, despite my gripes with this helmet, it fits (albeit tightly) and that other models costs twice as much so I'm keeping it anyway.
bike helmet December 30, 2008 Bruce T. Dunlap The helmet was promptly shipped and easy to adjust. It was a gift for my wife and she loves it.
Good Helmet December 1, 2008 BIG MONKEY (Miami) 0 out of 1 found this review helpful
The helmet is comfortable. I kind of forget I even have it on while I'm riding. It is affordable and good-looking. And it provides ample protection. The helmet is easy to use and easy to adjust, if necessary. Overall, it is a very good helmet.
Solid Helmet October 21, 2008 Lauren Crandell (San Francisco, CA) 0 out of 1 found this review helpful
I picked this helmet for a couple reasons - style and price. I think it's a great helmet for the price. Not 100% sure it does the job since I haven't crashed yet; but I suppose ideally, I'll never find out just how much protection this helmet gives me. My only complaint is the "one size fits all" sizing. It does technically fit; but I'm a small female and this helmet looks gigantic on my head. I suppose if I had wanted to pay more, I could have had a custom-fit helmet; so overall, I'm happy with the product.
